PSK Women’s Forum Hosts Talk on Finance for Women

On 19th April 2018, Palanpur Samaj Kendra-Women’s Forum hosted a talk on money matters at the newly renovated Shanti building, presented by Labdhi Mehta, an expert on personal finance from within the community.

The talk was organised to provide guidance as in this fast changing world, the role of women is rapidly changing. More and more women are taking an active interest in decision making over household assets.

The Housewife Special on finance covered topics such as

• Life of a Housewife

• Household Income and Expense Statement

• Savings vs Investing

• The inflation monster

• Where to store your surplus

• Importance of an emergency fund

• Importance of Insurance – Life & Medical

• How to prepare for Singlehood

Labdhi has worked in the Personal Finance industry for 10 years. She is an engineer and holds an MBA in Finance. She has worked in HDFC Bank and Merrill Lynch and is currently working as a Content Developer at CIEL, a company that is in the space of financial education.

Her invaluable, interesting and informative talk inspired the members of Women’s Forum to take an active interest in their personal finance and make good financial decisions. They would then be an asset to their families, not only in managing, but also in building, their personal wealth by investing smartly.
