Palanpur Resident and Vidyamandir Ex-Student Chandni Modi Occupies KBC Host’s Seat

It was a moment of pride for Palanpur, when a resident of the city, Chandni Arvindbhai Modi, now awaiting her posting as Deputy Tehsildar and currently working at the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) in Gujarat appeared on popular TV quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati. Not only did the young officer fulfil her wish to appear on the show, but she also got the rare chance to sit in host Amitabh Bachchan’s seat for a short while.

The magical moment came soon after Chandni was winner of the Fastest Finger First round and came to sit in the Hot Seat for contestants. When the Big B asked what was her special wish, she expressed her desire to sit in his chair, which the host graciously allowed her to do.

An ex-student of Vidyamandir, Chandni who completed her Std 12 from the institution in 2008, took home prize money of Rs 3,20,000 after answering 11 questions correctly, but failing to come up with the right answer for Q 12 – “Who has been the youngest chief minister of Maharashtra so far?”

The young government officer recently cleared the GPSC (Gujarat Public Service Commission) exams, and is awaiting her posting as Deputy Tehsildar. Chandni, who aspires to become an IAS officer and is preparing for the entrance exam, told the host that she aims to prove to the society that married women can also pursue their dreams with their hard work.
