Palanpur Samaj Kendra Sports Committee held the annual badminton tournament at CCI Badminton courts on August 15, 2024. It was a very special day, being Independence Day, and extra special for the Samaj. The day began with cutting the Ribbon by Kanubhai B. Shah, President, Palanpur Samaj Kendra. The tournament attracted good participation with a complete set of high players, which resulted in competitive games and high standards of badminton being displayed.
Palanpur Online, the community website launched in 2008 has always received support from members of the community. The website, which is an initiative of the Vidyamandir Trust, has announced a new list of sponsors beginning mid-2024. This is the 5th set of sponsors since the inception of the site.
Rajnikant Jivraj Mehta, a Mumbai-based diamantaire who is well known for his philanthropical work, was recently felicitated in Juna Deesa for his achievements, his selfless social activity and his noteworthy contributions to society. The Jain Sangha in the town bestowed him with the title of Samaj Ratna, while other sections showed their appreciation in multiple ways.
Punit Mehta, Partner & CEO, D Navinchandra Jewels, has been re-elected to the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) Board in June 2024. A veteran of the jewellery industry for over 25 years, this is his second term on the Board, having first been elected in 2021.
