The well-known saying ‘Age if just a number’ was once again proved true by the large turnout and enthusiastic participation of senior citizens from the community at the Navratri celebrations organised by the Palapur Samaj Kendra’s Senior Citizen’s Group. The activities of the group are managed by Kantaben Mahendrabhai Mehta family.
In mid-October, the Palanpuri samaj mourned the passing of a true legend, Shri Pravinbhai (Esso) Manilal Zaveri, who dedicated over six decades of his life to providing a unique and selfless service to the community by offering every type of assistance to families mourning the loss of a loved one.
Architectural Digest India, a well-respected and popular magazine for architects brought out by the publishers of Vogue, GQ and Condenast Traveller, has featured a project done by architect Nishant Mehta – the reimagining of Sahyog, a building for Mamtamandir, the school for the differently-abled run by Vidyamandir Trust in Palanpur. Nishant is son of Falguni and Samir Shashikant Mehta.
For the second consecutive year, the Parikh Foundation sponsored and supported three musical evenings for army personnel serving in the forward border areas of Jammu Kashmir. The music programme was presented by well-known artiste Ms Hina Mehta and her troupe from Mumbai. The shows were held on September 27, 28 and 29 at Nagrota, Udhampur and Akhnoor in Jammu Kashmir and were received enthusiastically by the armed forces personnel stationed there.
