Grand Finale to Lokniketan ‘Swarna Jayanti’ Celebrations
The year-long ‘Swarna Jayanti’ celebrations of the Lokniketan, Ratanpur concluded in a fitting manner at a huge mass rally held at the organisation’s campus in Ratanpur on June 18, 2011 and presided over by the Governor of Gujarat Smt. Kamla Beniwal. Congress leader Arjunbhai Modvadia and HGNU Vice Chancellor, Dr. Hemaxiben Rao were also present on the dais.
'Padharo Maare Desh': A New Play on History of Palanpur A new historical play, “Padharo Maare Desh”, written by award winning playwright Dr. Rishikesh Raval that presents the history of Palanpur through music, dance and drama, will debut shortly in Mumbai.
Samir Bhansali wins Couture Jewellery Award in US
Samir Bhansali, Head Designer and the owner of La Reina, a US based jewellery company that specializes in very high end couture pieces has won the first prize in the ‘Diamonds above US$ 20k’ category at the prestigious 2011 Couture Design Awards held during the Couture Show in Las Vegas in early June. Samir is the son of Late Pushpa and Shri Rajnibhai Chandulal Bhansali.
Shreyas Doshi wins 'Pioneer Honoree' Award from IDCA Palanpuri diamantaire, Shreyas Kirtilal Doshi, Chairman & Managing Director, Shrenuj & Co. was awarded the “Pioneer Honoree” by the Indian Diamond and Colorstone Association (IDCA) at its 27th Annual Gala Awards Night held during the JCK Las Vegas show on June 4, 2011 at the Mandalay Bay Hotel, Las Vegas.
Seema Mehta Presents Solo Kathak Recital
Kathak yoga exponent Seema Mehta presented a solo recital entitled “Umang Chhandam – A Journey” at the Little Theatre, NCPA, Mumbai on June 11, 2011. She has learnt this discipline under her guruji, Pandit Chitresh Das, the founder of the technique of Kathak yoga which combines dance and music with the basic principles of yoga for a full-fledged form of workout. Seema is the daughter of Purnima and Kaushik Kirtilal Mehta (Eurostar).
