Bhanuchandra K Bhansali, co-founder of B. Arunkumar & Co., passionate philanthropist, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on Decembr 4, 2020 in Mumbai.

He was son of late Maniben and late Keshavlal Bhansali; Husband of Veenaben Bhansali; Father of Amit-Rupa Bhansali, Shaila-Rajiv Jhaveri and Nina-Shreyas Mehta; Grandfather of Ravi-Namrata, Rishi-Chandni, Riddhi-Rahul, Reshma-Anshul, Rahul-Roshni, Rochan-Rishna, Rishabh, Radhika-Joseph and Roshni; Greatgrandfather of Mahek, Kaviraj, Arjun, Aviraj, Ameer, Reyna, Rheya, Ruhi, Rey and Rio.

Orphaned by age 5, after a less than a decade at a boarding school near Patan in Gujarat, he moved to Mumbai at the age of 15, and worked in the diamond industry.

He worked closely with nephew, Late Arunkumar R. Mehta, first recutting diamonds, later polishing rough and finally in 1960, solidifying their partnership, founding B Arunkumar & Co.

They built a foundation built on trust, integrity and team work, on which the business flourished, new generations of partners joined, and the group grew into the international leading diamond group now called Rosy Blue.

His strength came from his deep and unshakeable commitment to Jainism – and an unwavering moral and ethical compass which guided his every decisions.

He spent his retirement years passionately pursuing his religious and charitable interests, actively supporting our Sadhus and Upasaras, helping the desperately needy, and always gave special attention to helping animals. He believed in giving anonymously without seeking fame or credit, and quietly influenced countless lives.
