It was a unique morning of celebration for over 50 super seniors from the community and their families as the PSK Super Senior Citizens Activity Centre with the Kantaben Mahendrabhai Mehta family presented “Super Seniors 2024: A Morning of Music and Dance”.
Well-known poet, writer and ghazalkar Amar Palanpuri received the Gujarat Sahitya Akademi’s ‘Vali’ Gujarati Ghazal Paritoshik 2024 at a function held in Surat on February 11, 2024. The award was presented by Shri Harsh Sanghvi, Home Minister and Minister for Cultural Activities, Gujarat.
Respected philanthropist Smt Shardaben U. Mehta, wife of the founder of the well-known Torrent Group Late U.N. Mehta passed away in Ahmedabad on February 5, 2024. Two widely-read media publications – Times of India and Divya Bhaskar featured tributes highlighting her social work, especially her support for education of the girl child.
A large number of community members successfully participated in the Tata Mumbai Marathon held on January 21, 2024, with Vishal Bhansali completing the gruelling Full Marathon of 42 km for the 11th time and many others completing the half marathon or the Open 10k run. As in previous years, a number of community members also participated to raise funds for various charitable causes.
