A large number of community members successfully participated in the Tata Mumbai Marathon held on January 21, 2024, with Vishal Bhansali completing the gruelling Full Marathon of 42 km for the 11th time and many others completing the half marathon or the Open 10k run. 
 

As in previous years, a number of community members also participated to raise funds for various charitable causes. 
 

Sunit Kothari was at the forefront, recognised as a ‘Change Legend’ (individuals who raised over Rs 1 crore), while his daughter Anyssa Kothari was a ‘Change Champion’ (individuals who raised between Rs 25-50 lakh). Both took part in the Dream Run and raised funds for the upcoming Shrimad Rajchandra Animal Hospital, which will be Asia’s largest such facility.
 

Vipul Shah, Dharmesh Shah, Sujata Shah and Urvi Shah led 130 participants from their company Asian Star and raised funds for two NGOs, The Light of Life Trust and The Hands of Hope, focused on education for the girl child and protection against child sexual abuse.
 

Sharing his experience, Vishal Bhansali expressed gratitude to his wife Shefali, his “pillar of strength”, and said, “Running has really taught me how to persevere through hard times, be optimistic and look for sunshine through the clouds!!”
 

Raj Mehta ran his first official race in New York, in the Brooklyn half marathon in April 2023. He completed that race in 02:05:01 hrs.
