Arvind Shah Elected President of Arihant Mitra Mandal, Jayantilal Jhaveri is President Emeritus

Arvind T. Shah of Asian Star has been elected as the new President of the Arihant Mitra Mandal, an organization actively involved in a wide range of religious, social and charitable activities in Mumbai. He was elected to this position by the 21 member committee of the Mandal which has commenced its three year term in office recently.

He takes the place of Jayantilal Amratlal Jhaveri who served as President for 33 years and has been named as the President Emeritus of the Mandal. Jayantibhai is also the Hon. Secy. of Reliance H.N. Hospital and has rendered outstanding service to the community as the Treasurer of the Palanpur Samaj Kendra for the last 50 years..

The AMM was founded over 35 years ago by Prabodh T. Shah and others from the community and has about 250 member families who trace their origins to a group of villages near Palanpur city. Most of the families have migrated to Mumbai nearly a century ago and are predominantly engaged in the diamond trade.

The Mandal is active in a number of spheres, conducting a variety of religious and social activities for the community members. It supports deserving students from within the community with educational scholarships and is also involved in other charitable work.

Newly elected President, Arvindbhai told Palanpur Online that the committee was in the process of finalizing its activities for the year, which woulit include social gatherings, pilgrimages and yatras, and activities on religious occasions like Paryushan. It would also continue with the charitable work that the Mandal has done all these years.
