Trustee of the Mission and Head of PR paying tribute

Shrimad Rajchandra Mission, Dharampur paid heartfelt tributes to its “selfless sevak” Dhaval Mehta who passed away tragically a few days earlier, at a meeting held at the Yogi Sabha Grah Hall (Dadar) on December 7. Dhaval’s parents, Indira and Yatish Bhogilal Mehta and his wife Anuja and son Rishav were present at the meeting.

Mehta, who was first introduced to the work of the Mission in 2003-04, gradually got more involved in its activities for which he made time while also running the family businesses, Diatrends, a jewellery manufacturing firm, and Kunal Diamonds.

Inspired by the teachings of its Gurudev Shri Rakeshbhai and the work of the mission among disadvantaged Adivasi families, Dhavalbhai became a Trustee of Shrimad Rajchandra Educational Trust, the Coordinator of Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care activities, a Core Team Member of the Mission's Public Relations team, as well as offered seva through other avenues.

He played a key role in the development of the Shrimad Rajchandra Vidyavihar, and the establishment of the Science stream at the Vidyapeeth, the only college serving an area with 238 villages. He was not only involved in raising funds and the construction of the building, but also played an active role in curriculum development and the mentoring of the staff and students there.

Dhavalbhai was also the Chief Coordinator of the Shrimad Rajchandra Love & Care which ran projects in ten different areas including health care, education, childcare, women's care, tribal upliftment, social service, humanitarian service, animal care, environmental protection, and disaster relief services.

In 2011, he received the Youth Seva Ratna Award.

In his Pravachan at the sabha in Mumbai, Gurudev lovingly praised Dhaval’s virtues and reflected on various aspects of life and death.

A short video depicting Dhaval’s association with the Mission and memories shared by some of his associates was screened.

President of the Mission, Shri Abhaybhai Jasani, felicitated Dhaval’s parents, Indira and Yatish Bhogilal Mehta and his wife Anuja and son RIshav. A painting that Dhavalbhai had wanted to gift Gurudevshri was offered to the head of the Mission by his family.
