The Palanpur Jain Samaj Young Group organised a community exhibition at the World Trade Centre, Cuffe Parade, Mumbai on October 1, 2023. The event, organised to promote smaller community entrepreneurs, especially businesses of women and youth who offer special products and services, received an overwhelming response from exhibitors and visitors alike.
Dr Jatin R. Kothari, Director of Nephrology and Chief Consultant - Renal Transplant at Nanavati Max Hospital, Mumbai, and Founding Trustee of Apex Kidney Foundation (AKF) has been selected for the prestigious American Nephrologists of Indian Origin (ANIO) Community Service Award 2023. The award will be presented at the ASN 2023 conference being organised by American Society of Nephrology in Philadelphia next month. ANIO is a 3,000+ members’ association and includes some really big names in the field.
The Palanpur Samaj Kendra’s annual sports calendar of 2022-23, which had a number of well organised and highly appreciated sporting events, drew to a close with the awards and prize distribution ceremony, organised by the PSK Sports Committee at Malabar Hill Club in Mumbai on September 24, 2023.
Two well-known community members and leaders of the gem and jewellery industry, Baron Dilip R Mehta and Vipul P Shah, were among the “40 extraordinary individuals” honoured at a special function held along with the recent Jewellery & Gem World show at Hong Kong. They were among an elite list of the who’s who of the global industry which included a total of six Indians.
Rajiv P. Mehta participated in a delegation of Watch and Jewellery Initiative 2030 (WJI2030) that recently visited the United Nations for a Round Table and launch of a case study conducted in partnership with UN Women, on the topic of Gender Responsive Procurement built around the theme of promoting Gender Equality.
A new book on the ghazal traditions of Palanpur and the ghazals of its oldest living exponent Amar Palanpuri was recently released by the noted ghazalkar, his sister and Mrs Rupaben Mehta, Chairperson of Mahavir Healthcare at a function in Surat. The book, titled Saathe Tame Raho (સાથે તમે રહો) has been brought out by Ghazal Sadhna Group and Shabdmaitri.
