A new book on the ghazal traditions of Palanpur and the ghazals of its oldest living exponent Amar Palanpuri was recently released by the noted ghazalkar, his sister and Mrs Rupaben Mehta, Chairperson of Mahavir Healthcare at a function in Surat. The book, titled Saathe Tame Raho (સાથે તમે રહો) has been brought out by Ghazal Sadhna Group and Shabdmaitri.
 

The book release function was held on the premises of Amar Palanpuri’s bungalow ‘Bela’ and was attended by a number of poets, writers, artists and theatre persons. Some of them spoke, praising the contribution of Amar Palanpuri in developing and keeping alive the ghazal traditions of Palanpur.
 

A highlight of the evening was when Amar Palanpuri himself said a few words about his life and recited some of his popular ghazals.
