Ashwinbhai Kuverjibhai Kothari, a well-known philanthropist and Chairman of Female Hospital Palanpur passed away in Mumbai on October 3, 2020. He is survived by his son Apurva, daughter Purvi and their families.
Highly respected educationist and intellectual, Advocate Shirishkumar Mayanchand Modi who was long-standing President of the Banaskantha District Kelvani Mandal (BDKM) and was involved in numerous other development initiatives in the city, passed away in Palanpur on September 25, 2020. He was 82 and is survived by his wife Pratimaben, his children Anisha, Vipul and Shefali and grandchildren.

Well known artist Rohit Zaveri has been invited to present his latest collection of artworks – a set of sculptural paintings entitled “Unknown Planet” – at the prestigious International Art Expo New York, currently scheduled for April 2021. The collection is a unique set of over 50 artworks created on high-density polystyrene foam, commonly known as ‘thermocol’. Zaveri has created most of them during the lockdown imposed as a result of Covid 19, working from his home in Surat.

Vritika, daughter of Purvi and Bhavin Mehta and granddaughter of Nitinbhai K Mehta and Jitubhai Bhansali was recently felicitated by the Governor of Maharashtra at The Raj Bhavan for her contribution towards support for Covid warriors through her art works, alongside other individuals and organisations that had worked for the same cause. The felicitation function was organised by Lodha Foundation.
Fourteen-year old Syona Mehta, a student of The Walworth Barbour American International School, Israel, and her co-student Lillian May Berger, won the 3rd prize at the NESA Virtual Science and Engineering Fair (NVSEF), an event in which over 800 teams from schools in various parts of the world participated. Syona is the daughter of Sweta and Bhavesh Mukesh Mehta.
