Vritika Mehta Felicitated by Governor of Maharashtra for Support to Covid Warriors
Vritika, daughter of Purvi and Bhavin Mehta and granddaughter of Nitinbhai K Mehta and Jitubhai Bhansali was recently felicitated by the Governor of Maharashtra at The Raj Bhavan for her contribution towards support for Covid warriors through her art works, alongside other individuals and organisations that had worked for the same cause. The felicitation function was organised by Lodha Foundation.
 
From April this year, Vritika, conceptualised a campaign “An artwork a day keeps the virus away”, doing easily recognisable digital sketches of a person without showing his/her face. She collected donations for every sketch she made.
 
Over the past few months, Vritika raised Rs 3.75 lakh by creating 135 unique digital sketches and artworks that she had made and also donated PPE suits, N95 masks, face shields, blood sugar kits to Maharashtra Police Force and various COVID care institutions.
 
The young artist completed her ICSE from JB Petit High School and subsequently completed her IB from BD Somani International with Visual Arts at the higher level as part of the course. She has secured admission to Parsons School of Design, New York for Undergraduate Studies - Strategic Design and Management Programme.
