Kumarbhai Sevantilal Javeri received a special reward from the Government of Gujarat at the recently held 70th Republic Day celebrations in Palanpur. The award was presented by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Vijaybhai Rupani and the Hon’ble Governor of the state, Shri Omprakash Kohli in recognition of his dedicated work in Gadh through the Shri Sevantilal Tribhovandas Javeri Charitable Trust.
Philanthropist and respected jeweller, Surendra Manilal Mehta, passed away peacefully at his residence in Chennai on 8 February 2019 at the age of 96 years. The eldest son of Late Rao Saheb Manilalbhai Bhaichandbhai Mehta, who rose in his career as a government servant to eventually become Vazir Riyasat e Palanpur, Surendrabhai moved to Chennai in 1939 and was involved with the family businesses, as well as a number of religious and charitable associations there for over eight decades.
The 36th edition of the Shri Mangaljibhai Zaverchandbhai Mehta Vidya Vistar Vyakhyanmala was held in the first week of February in Palanpur. The annual four-day lecture series is popular among the citizens of Palanpur and has been held without a break since 1982.
