Amitbhai B. Bhansali Conferred with PhD in Antwerp
Amitbhai Bhanuchandra Bhansali of Antwerp was conferred with a PhD degree for his
study of Jainism by the Tilburg University in The Netherlands at a function on September
1.
Amar Palanpuri felicitated in Mumbai Amar Palanpuri,
aged 82 and currently residing in Surat, a well-known exponent of Gujarati ghazals,
was felicitated by respected personality, Shri Morari Bapu, at a special mushaira
held at Tejpal Auditorium in Mumbai on August 29, 2015 to commemorate the birth
centenary of the renowned poet Amrut Ghayal.

Amrish Dalal passes away Amrish A. Dalal, son
of the late Shobhana and Ashwin Dalal and grandson of late Manjulaben & late Shashikant
Dalal and late Manjulaben & late Bagmalbhai Laxmichand Parikh (Babusha), passed
away suddenly on Friday August 21, 2015 at the young age of 41.
PSK Badminton Tournament – Results Palanpur
Samaj Kendra (PSK) held its 26th annual Badminton tournament as in previous years
on August 15 at the CCI courts in Brabourne Stadium. While the total number of participants
was lower that expected, there were a number of quality players who took part.
Shayar Bhansali’s thesis film wins multiple awards
in US ‘Against Night’, a film put together by Shayar Bhansali and other
PG students of the American Film Institute at Los Angeles has been selected as a
Finalist at the prestigious 2015 Student Academy Awards, the results of which are
to be announced shortly.

Parag N. Shah of Gem International was re-elected as the Treasurer of the Diamond
Manufacturers & Importers Association of America (DMIA) during elections to the

– Maari Laganino’ Veteran diamantaire Kanubhai B. Shah released ‘Gulmohar
– Maari Laganino’, a book containing a compilation of his favourite poems and verses
collected over the last many years.
PSK Sports Committee Conducts Silver Jubilee Celebration
and Annual Award Function Palanpur Samaj Kendra (PSK) Sports Committee held
a special event on August 2 at Garware Club House (BCA) Banquet Hall, Wankhede Stadium,
Mumbai, to celebrate its Silver Jubilee and felicitate the winners at the various
sports events conducted during the year 2014-15. Dr Vijay D.Patil, President of
DY Patil Sports Academy was the Chief Guest.
