Khushboo Shah, artist and interior designer, has set a National Record for creating the ‘Largest Folded Book Sculpture’, a rendering of a tiger and will be a part of the Limca Book of Records 2017. Khushboo is the daughter of Reshma and Ashish Vasantbhai Shah.
The sculpture was created over a year ago after Khushboo worked for 12 hours in two six hour sessions each on January 22 and 23, 2016, so that the achievement would be recorded as a special gift on her birthday, January 24, 2016. She created a tiger which is 16 inches tall from a book that was 21 inches in height. The Editor of the Limca Book of Records said in a certificate that “she folded the pages in the book in such a way that the image of the tiger was evident after the folding.”
Sharing the story of her achievement, Khushboo said, “I had created an art installation at Kala Ghoda Arts Festival in 2015 on the theme 'Save the Tigers'. When I sent those pictures to Limca Book of Records, they said that I should set a record by making a sculpture of the same tiger, and stipulated the conditions under which I should do it.”
Khushboo is a professionally qualified Interior Designer from Rachna Sansad, who has also completed her M.Com in management and MBA in Project Management. She currently works as a freelance interior designer and content writer for a creative agency. She is a 'self-taught' artist & had presented art ainstallations at Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, Mood Indigo and Dumas Art Festival.
