Sneha Mehta, recently gave a talk on "How to survive a terror attack" at a special TEDx event hosted by the Cathedral & John Connon School in Mumbai. Sneha, who lives in Antwerp, is married to Sameep Mehta, son of Sapna and Manoj Mehta.
Sneha and her husband survived two bomb blasts that happened at the Brussels airport in March 2016. At the time of the incident, she was 16 weeks into her first pregnancy, and shortly after, she wrote a letter of hope to her then unborn child, perhaps the youngest survivor of the attack.
During her talk in Mumbai, Sneha discussed her view of the world post the event and the letter she wrote at that time. She pinpoints some key learnings such as ‘explore and admit to your biases’, 'do a media detox regularly', 'be open to discussing the conflicts between faith and reason within religion', ‘empathise with people using the power of social media’, ‘don’t underestimate the power of the smallest gesture’ and ‘synthesise your happiness’.
Sneha Mehta has studied biomedicine and is currently an entrepreneur working on the Vegetarian Elite- a platform for vegetarians to share global food recommendations.
