PSK Sports Committee Conducts Badminton Tournament 2017

The annual Badminton tournament organised by the Sports Committee of the Palanpur Samaj Kendra was a unique experience this year as there were a large number of participants who were extremely well prepared for the matches.

The tournament was held at the CCI Badminton Courts on 15 August 2017, with around 62/65 participants, all of whom were very competitive – it appeared as it they had practised the whole year and played competitive tournaments as well. The audience had the privilege of seeing state and national level players from within the samaj competing as well.

The participation was good across all age groups.

Sriya Mehta, an upcoming and outstanding player from Ahmedabad, flew in from Bangalore where she trains to participate.

Also, this year a lot of champions were defeated and new winners emerged. The men's and mixed doubles finals were among the highlights. The men's draw saw a new champion in Kashish Mehta. Also a new Champion in the above men Veterans group saw Keyur Gandhi emerge winner.

The sports committee looks forward to receiving similar support every year.
