Sureshbhai 'Snehi' Parikh’s new book of poems released

Veteran diamantaire and poet Sureshbhai Parikh, who writes under the pen name Snehi, launched his third book of poems, ‘Sneh Darpan’ at a function held at the Senate Hall, Nariman Point on October 14, 2017. His two earlier books ‘Nokhu Najaranu’ and ‘Paglanii Lipi’ have been well received by lovers of poetry.

The event began with lighting of the lamp following which two of the poet’s young 2-year old great granddaughters, Aahana and Aaradita recited the Navkhar Mantra. Following this, Snehi himself read out two specially selected poems.

Other poems from the book were read out by other family members. This included confident renditions by Snehi’s 6-year old great grandson Vivaan Kothari, granddaughters Aashka and Alauki, and other close relatives Sapna Parikh and Pragnaben.

Chetna Parikh delivered the vote of thanks.

The evening was hosted by Mrs Smitaben Shah, who enthralled the audience with her rhythmic words and melodious voice. A number of well known personalities from the community as well scholars and writers such as Jyotsnaben Tanna, Maheshbhai and Dharmeshbhai Bhatt and others also graced the occasion.
