Priti and Mehul Shah Felicitated at 43rd Giants International Convention in Mumbai

At the 43rd International Convention of the Giants International held recently in Mumbai, Priti and Mehul N. Shah were felicitated for their contributions to the activities of the organisation and particularly for their recent initiatives in tree plantation and other environmentally-friendly and socially-oriented programmes.

The felicitation programme at the convention was held in the presence of Hon’ble Maharashtra Governor Dr Vidyasagar Rao, Justice Krishnan, MPs Manoj Tiwari and Ramdas Athvale, MLA Mangal Prabhat Lodha, film stars Hrithik Roshan, Sonali Bendre, Sangita Bijlani and Chairperson Shaina NC.

Currently the President of the Giants Group of Chowpatty, Priti Shah also presided over the convention which was attended by nearly 2,000 delegates from across the world. Each delegation presented their reports with a focus on various social activities in the fields of environment, education, save girl child, empowerment, health etc.

Earlier this year, the Giants Group, led by Priti Shah had organised a mass tree plantation drive at Hanging Gardens and Siri Road. During the event, which was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of Forests, Finance and Planning, Government of Maharashtra, Shri Sudhir Mungantiwar, nearly 3,000 trees were planted due to the efforts of Priti and Mehul Shah. According to a Centre for Environmental Research & Education (CERE) study, 3,420 tonnes of carbon dioxide have been cleared from Mumbai as a result of 16,000 trees planted over the last couple of years.
