Vyoma Parikh held her second solo art show, entitled GENESIS at the Artist's Centre, Kala Ghoda, Mumbai between February 26 and March 4, 2018. Vyoma is the wife of Atul Parikh.
Inspired by how things evolve and originate, the exhibition covers a variety of themes such as a mother and child, the dawn at the ghats, an emerging sun on the mountains and the play of light on a lotus pond. Through these paintings the artist portrays her depiction of a blossoming relationship and the beginning of a new dawn.
Vyoma has been an international table tennis player having represented and captained the Indian team at the Asian Games and World Championships. Besides being a successful jeweller, she spends her days painting at her South Bombay Studio. With her passion for the arts, and being an avid traveler, she can get lost for days on end in museums, temples and historical monuments.
Having painted for the last 30 years she had her first solo exhibition in December 2016. Besides her husband and mother she gives credit to her current mentor, the renowned artist Mr. Pramod Kurlekar.
