Palanpur Samaj Kendra (PSK) Sports Committee recently held the annual badminton tournaments at CCI Badminton courts. The participation and the participants were of the highest quality. 
 

There were some very intriguing and tough games during the tournament as every participant had a point to prove when he or she entered the court. It was a indeed a heart-warming sight for many to see such talent in the Samaj! 

From the very first round in each age group and even in all doubles categories there were nail-biting finishes. The final match in every category, whether in the under 14 age group or the main men’s event, went into a decider. Such was the quality of the talented sportsmen and sportswomen who took part! 

The highlight of the day was the men’s final between Mishil Shah and Rahil Parikh. It would have been nice if each and every member of the community could have witnessed it. The final was no less than another epic final – between P V Sindhu and Nayomi Okuhara! 

To add to the enthusiasm the community’s very own Arjuna award recipient and the first Indian to play in a ranking tournament, the champion snooker player from Palanpur Samaj, Aditya Mehta was present on the occasion. It was indeed very encouraging for the players to have the presence of a sportsman of his calibre and status. A number of players from the Samaj who have excelled in various sports were acknowledged at the event.

The organisers extend thanks to all participants, spectators and Aditya Mehta for gracing the occasion and hope that the trend of greater participation will continue year every year with more and more talent coming to the fore.
