The Women's Forum of Palanpur Samaj Kendra celebrated the 5th International Yoga Day under the expert guidance of Neetaben Nimishbhai Mehta at Kamala Bungalow Hall, Malabar Hill.
Over 80 members of the community & friends of different ages participated with enthusiasm. The function began with the auspicious chanting of mantras and the performance of the Surya Namaskar by around 30 members of the Yoga group. Even the senior members performed the specially adapted version of Surya Namaskar on the chair. The yoga class members also performed "Ganesh Vandana" with different asanas set in rhythm with background music.
After this short performance, everyone present joined in for an hour long yoga session conducted by Neetaben.
Yoga is a perfect exercise for health & wellbeing and the session was well devised so as to stretch & stimulate all parts of the body. Later few participants also shared their views on the session and how they perceived yoga.
All the participants thoroughly enjoyed the refreshing and rejuvenating experience. The session ended with light refreshments.
Truly in addition to improving flexibility, yoga is a great addition to an exercise routine for its strength-building benefits.
