Nysa Mehta, daughter of Riddhi and Jigar Pradip Mehta of Surat, won a Bronze medal in the Under-14 age group at the 65th National School Games held at Sangrur in Ludhiana, Punjab in December 2019. She emerged among the top three in competition with students from all different states across the country. 

A Std VI student of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Vidyamandir in Surat, Nysa, was selected to represent the state at the national level after she won the Gold medal in the Gujarat State Kick Boxing Championships earlier in the year. 

Nysa grandparents are Kalpanaben and Pradipbhai Dahyalal Mehta and Purnimaben and Dr Mananbhai Mehta. In 2005, Purnimaben Mehta was honoured with a state level award for her outstanding work in the field of Consumer Rights.
