Responding to the new challenges before educationists on account of the country wide lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Vidyamandir Trust Palanpur launched the 'Vidyamandir Educational Studio' on June 28, 2020 with the aim of ensuring that its students remained connected to learning.
 

The state-of-the-art facility was launched in the presence of Dr. T. S. Joshi, Director, GCERT, Gandhinagar at a function attended directly by a few staff members and over 2,000 more, including students, parents, alumni, and others who joined in online through a YouTube link. 

The project was conceptualised in a series of meetings between the Trustees, experts from Mumbai and senior members of the VMT management held online from end March – early April onwards. 

The studio is well equipped with the latest digital tools and technologies including digital panel, chroma screen, mirror accessories, Renderman, editing software, etc. and a digital resource room. Lectures will be created using these facilities, with the focus being on ‘Blended Learning’, a combination of different educational methods such as traditional education, digital education, interactive education, and home learning.

Dr Hasmukh Modi, Director, VMT said that ‘Vidyamandir believes that traditional classrooms are simply irreplaceable. What students learn in a classroom and by interaction with the peers is very critical, but technology is playing a very vital role in today’s learning. Vidyamandir is committed to blending of these two realities. We see these changes as relevant even on the other side of the crisis. The Blended Learning initiative would cater to the needs of all types of students from the very intelligent to those who required additional assistance, and would involve a mix of online interactive classes and discussions as well as self-study at home for which various digital resources were also being made available.”
