Well known Ghazalkar Amar Palanpuri was recently felicitated by Gujarati Sahitya Bharti and Jeevan Bharti Mandal at a special event held in Surat in recognition of his multiple achievements in the field.
The felicitation, being held in 2021, featured 21 poets of the city reciting poetry in Amar Palanpuri’s honour. Litterateurs such as Dhwanil Parekh, Dr Girish Kazi, Azam Ghadiali, Kadir Peerzada and others also spoke about the myriad achievements of the poet. The event was presided over by senior writer-journalist Ravindra Parekh.
Known for his versatility as an actor, poet, lyricist, ghazalkaar and organizer of cultural activities, with a deep love for the Gujarati stage, Amar Palanpuri has lived in Surat for the last many decades.
