Dr Jatin Kothari, Founder & Director, Apex Kidney Care - Dialysis Networks, India – has been commended by BMC Chief Iqbal Chahal for the role he played in helping save many lives of patients on dialysis during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Letter of Appreciation comes shortly after Dr Kothari was nominated for election to the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh) i.e. as an FRCP.
In his letter, the BMC Commissioner writes that Covid 19 was an “unexpected calamity…. that unleashed mayhem” and particularly, “warranted nephrology professionals in this city like you, and the city administration to work in collaboration to mitigate this”
Shri Chahal notes that “because of the role you have played in ‘Project Victory’, we have been able to save many lives of patients on dialysis”. Hailing it as an example of constructive collaboration between the city administration and academia, he expressed gratitude to Dr Kothari who represented the Mumbai Nephrology Group.
A few weeks earlier, Dr Kothari was also informed of his being nominated for election to the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh). According to the college website, the FRCP(Edin), “Fellowship is awarded to consultants or equivalent. It recognises clinical achievement, confers international peer recognition and presents enhanced professional opportunities to contribute to standard-setting and our policy influencing activities.”
Dr Kothari completed his MBBS, MD and DM (Nephrology) from Bombay University and in addition to being the Founder of Apex Kidney Care and Medipolis Lifecare, Palanpur, is also a Consultant at other well-known hospitals in Mumbai and elsewhere.
