Neha Mehta, wife of Pranay Satish Mehta of Thakorlal Hiralal, recently received the Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation award for Best charitable institution on behalf of SRCC Children’s Hospital in Mumbai. Neha, who is Trustee and Jt. Secretary of The SRCC Trust, spearheads various activities towards upliftment of children from the underprivileged sections of society specially in the health and education sectors. She is the daughter of Smita and Narendra Mafatlal Mehta.
Neha, who worked at IDFC Limited in the healthcare sector, joined SRCC Trust in 2012 to set up a brand-new children’s hospital in the city. A full-fledged children’s hospital was opened by SRCC in 2017 with 207 beds and multiple departments run by highly qualified physicians and surgeons. The Centre for Child Development at SRCC has since flourished under Neha and makes sure that it does not turn away a single child for lack of funds and always provides necessary treatment as per their needs.
Neha says that her main goal is to promote quality and affordable healthcare across India to all children in need. With this as her aim, she has organised many fund raisers, giving priority in her endeavours to fulfil the needs of others, and has urged others who join and support her in this work.
