Three young educators from the community, Jahnavi Kothari, Kareena Mehta and Sakshi Shah, all scholars at Columbia University in USA, conducted a three-day Holistic Learning Workshop at D.D. Chokshi College of Education, Palanpur. The programme, a first-ever experience of social emotional learning for teachers of Banaskantha district, was facilitated by Vidyamandir Trust.
Jahanvi is the daughter of Gopika and Anish Kothari; Kareena Mehta is daughter of Dimple and Rajiv P. Mehta) and Sakshi is daughter of Nikhil and Sonika Shah.
The workshop focused on empowering future educators with resources and tools to incorporate skill-development rooted in the five competencies of social-emotional learning into their classrooms: self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision-making, social awareness, and relationship skills.
The workshop was successful and will be held annually at VMT.
