Fiona Ankit Jhaveri, a student of Std 9 at Greenlawns High School, Mumbai won a Gold Medal in Taekwondo (U-17, 44-46 kg category) at the recently concluded all-India CISCE National Games held in Ahmedabad. She was selected to represent Maharashtra at the event after securing gold at the Zonal level competition held earlier in Navi Mumbai.
Fiona is the daughter of Megha and Ankit Anil Jhaveri, and granddaughter of Hasumatiben and Anil Jhaveri and Vibha and Rajen R. Jhaveri. She has been learning the sport for the past eight years under the guidance of Shri Lahoo Lad and has won a number of other competitions in taekwondo. This was the first time she is winning a medal at the National level.
Her younger brother Nirvaan too is a black belt in Taekwondo and also represented Greenlawns School at the CISCE zonal level competition (U-14, 32-35 kg category). He won a bronze medal in the competition. Earlier, he has won the Mayor’s Cup competition at the district and state level and represented the state at the Nationals in 2017
