Raj Mehta, Director of Rosy Blue NV, has been appointed to the Board of the Watch & Jewellery Initiative 2030. He joins the governing body of the organization along with six other new appointees – all proven C-suite leaders who will guide the Executive Director and Management of the body in their work.
The new Board was constituted as part of a rigorous multi-stakeholder consultation with members, non-members, civil society, the academic world, financial institutions, policy makers and various key industry and non-industry stakeholders.
The initiative, founded by Kering and Cartier, is a global initiative open to all Watch and Jewellery players with a national or international footprint committed to a common core of key sustainability goals in three areas: building climate resilience, preserving resources, and fostering inclusiveness.
The Board now comprises Co-Chairs, Cyrille Vigneron (President and CEO, Cartier) and Marie-Claire Daveu (Chief Sustainability & Institutional Affairs Officer, Kering), Iris Van der Veken, Executive Director & Secretary General who are joined by the new appointees including Dr. Anino Emuwa, Managing Director, Avandis Consulting, and Founder of 100 Women @ Davos; Georg Kell, Chairman, Arabesque and Founder, United Nations Global Compact; Raj Mehta, Director, Rosy Blue NV; Licia Mattioli, CEO, Mattioli SpA; Frédéric Grangié, President, CHANEL Watches & Fine Jewellery; Bernadette Pinet-Cuoq, Executive President, UFBJOP; Dr. Gaetano Cavalieri, President, CIBJO.
Raj Mehta is a third generation diamantaire with over three decades of experience. He joined Rosy Blue when it acquired his family company Diamond Cutters Antwerp. In addition to his responsibilities in the business, Raj has been actively engaged in platforms such as the SDG Taskforce by Responsible Jewellery Council and the Watch and Jewellery Initiative 2030.
