The Banas Literature Festival, organized by the Gujarat Sahitya Academy in collaboration with Vidyamandir at the Vidyamandir campus on December 16-17, 2023 was a grand celebration of the rich literary heritage of Banaskantha and was widely acclaimed as a cultural milestone by all.
 

A number of dignitaries from varied fields – literary, social, political – were present at the grand inauguration and many also participated in the varied events held over the two days. 

Some of the well-known public figures present included Shri Bhagyesh Jha (Chairman, Gujarat Sahitya Academy), Shri Balvant Jani (Gujarati Author), MP Shri Parbatbhai Patel, MLA Shri Aniketbhai Thaker, and Dr. Jayendrasinh Jadav (Registrar, Gujarat Sahitya Academy).

Over the two days there were 14 diverse sessions celebrating the rich tapestry of the region’s literature and the profound contributions of writer-luminaries such as Shri Chandrakant Bakshi, Shri Umashankar Joshi, Shri Pannalal Patel, Shri Pitamber Patel, and Shri Raghuvir Chaudhary. 

Among the other highlights were an engaging monoact, 'Hu Chandrakant Bakshi,' performed by renowned Bollywood actor Shri Pratik Gandhi and a captivating cultural programme presented by Padmashri Bhikhudanbhai Gadhvi.
