The Sports Committee of Palanpur Samaj Kendra (PSK) conducted the Carrom, Chess, Table Tennis and Tennis tournaments, the first of this year, at the NSCI Club in Mumbai on January 7, 2024.
The events were a success due to the earnest efforts put in by the committee and the ever-supportive Sponsors. While tennis saw a small drop in participation, Table tennis saw a huge surge. Chess and carrom both had their usual share of participants.
There were a number of very good performances in Table tennis, particularly from the next generation kids who played some very tactical and competitive games. Despite the drop in participation those who did play were really up to the mark. Chess and carrom saw many hard-fought mental games.
Committee members said that the overall start has been convincing and they are hopeful that there will be no dearth of sports talent among the Samaj.
