PSK-Women's Forum Hosts International Yoga Day Celebration

Ten years ago, when the United Nations declared 21st June as the International Day of Yoga, nobody imagined that it would become one of the most popular and most celebrated international days.

Palanpur Samaj Kendra-Women’s Forum has been celebrating this day for the past nine years. This year the event was held at Avsar Hall, Nana Chowk.

Mrs Neetaben Nimishbhai Mehta, who conducted the session, focused on asanas to build immunity and good health. Her unwavering dedication and deep knowledge is truly commendable. She has been voluntarily teaching yoga to community members for the last twenty years.

The program started of with the mantras like 'Yogen chittasya sarva bhavantu sukhinam’. Trained under Neetaben’s guidance, the seniors performed beautifully on the song ‘Aao yog karein’  and the other Wellness Yoga students performed energetically to the song ‘Jaykaal Mahakal’

The chief guests for the event were Mr Praveen Shankarji Pandya, former chairman  GJEPC and Mr Nipunbhai Patwa. A special mention must be made for the couple Jayeshbhai and Nainitaben Patwa, whose generosity made it possible for the event to be held at Avsar Hall. Mrs Jyotsnaben Mehta, the BMC Corporator who is always so helpful to the community, also graced the occasion.

The enthusiastic participation of more than a hundred and fifty people, a spirited performance by the yoga group, delicious early morning breakfast and of course learning asanas to boost our immune system made the event enjoyable and memorable.
