VMT Alumnus to Join IIM, Times of India Reports; 50+ Students of 2024 Enter Top Engineering Colleges

Ronak Rathi, who completed his high school studies from Shri Vividhlaxi Vidyamandir run by the Vidyamandir Trust, and then went on to study Engineering, has gained admission to the prestigious IIM Ranchi for an MBA, with a creditable percentile score of 97.68 in CAT. His achievement was reported by the Times of India and other media outlets (here and here).

Alongside, over 50 students from the current batch secured admission in top engineering colleges at the national and state levels, on the basis of their excellent performances in competitive entrance exams.

Ronak Rathi’s story is truly inspiring. The 22-year-old Gujarati medium student overcame multiple challenges that arose due to his family background – his father runs a tea stall and his mother is a seamstress in Palanpur, while two of his younger sisters have visual disabilities.

In a post on his LinkedIn page, Rathi writes, “I knew that the road ahead wouldn't be easy, but I decided to walk it anyway… My parents are my strength and always encouraged me to see good things in bad circumstances… (and) I am extremely grateful to my teachers… (who) always said, ‘Everything will be fine, but it will take time to achieve the best things in life’.”

He also praised his mentor at the Adani Institute of Infrastructure Engineering (Adani Group, Gujarat Technological University (GTU), Adani University), where he did his B Tech in Electrical Engineering, who advised him "Everyone is on the same path, it's just that some have the local bus while some have a private jet. So don’t worry, time will provide you with everything…”

During school, in addition to his own studies, Ronak also helped his sisters by reading their text books while they made notes in Braille. Both are currently preparing for the UPSC. His two sisters also studied at Vidyamandir run Mamtamandir, section for the Divyangs.

"I want to give my best shot to the course and placements and support my family in every way possible. I want to retire my parents so that they can pursue their interests. I also want to support my sisters in achieving their dreams."

Vidyamandir is historically known for sending very large number of students into medical courses over the past decades. This has also helped Palanpur to develop into a medical center, that caters to all the surrounding districts, and the state of Rajasthan.

Over the past decade or so, Vidyamandir has been encouraging students to pursue courses in Engineering too. This focus and strong educational foundations it offers, is reflected in the fact that 27 students from the 2024 batch got admission to key central government engineering colleges like IIT, NIIT and GFTI on the basis of their JEE results, while another 37 have joined top engineering colleges in the state

Vidyamandir remains one of the largest feeders into top Medical and Engineering colleges.

Students from VMT also shone in the NEET, CA Foundation and CS Executive Entrance examinations this year.
