Former Vidyamandir Student Completes PhD in Jain Philosophy


Payalkumari Bharatkumar Kuria recently completed her doctoral thesis in Jain Philosophy and was awarded a PhD from L.J. University, Ahmedabad. Payal is an alumnus of Vidyamandir Trust Palanpur having completed her school studies in the Science stream in 1996. 

Subsequently, Payal pursued higher education in the Arts stream and in Sanskrit. During her academic career, she received multiple honors, winning a Gold Medal in the third year from North Gujarat University and Tamra Patra Award in M.Phil. from Gujarat Vidyapeeth.

Payal is also active with the Alert Brahmi Sundari Group which is associated with the Jain Alert Group of India, a well known Jain Youth Group with more than 400 active branches in India and overseas. Payal guides more than 1,500 sundaris in the group.
