Dr Dhairav Shah Receives Gold Medal for Best Paper Presentation at IAP Conference

Dr Dhairav Shah, a senior consulting musculoskeletal physiotherapist with over 13 years in practice, was awarded a Gold Medal for Best Paper Presentation in the senior research category at a conference of the Indian Association of Physiotherapy (IAP) held at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi on September 13-14, 2025. Dhairav is the son of Malti and Alkesh Vasantlal Shah. 

His paper, presented at the Delhi conference, discussed “Heavy slow resistance training in case of proximal hamstring tendinopathy” and has been published in the journal of The Society of Indian Physiotherapy. It is the first published study of its kind in the entire Asia Pacific region. He had also presented a similar study at the World Conference of Physiotherapy Asia Pacific held in Bali, Indonesia.

Dr Shah is a certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist from Curtin University in Perth, Australia and has also completed his PhD from Mumbai University with distinguished grades. He is the Founder and Head Physiotherapist of Asiya Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Clinic which runs clinics at Mumbai, Surat and Palanpur. 
In 2023, he had been invited as Keynote Speaker at an international conference in Dubai where he presented a paper on his inbuilt programme, ASIYA for tele-rehabilitation. In February 2025, he received a Silver Medal for his presentation on “Effect of Manual Therapy in a Case of Temperomandibular Joint Dysfunction” at a conference held at Nashik, Maharashtra.

The Indian Association Of Physiotherapist (IAP), is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that represents the physiotherapy profession at national and international Level. Set up in 1955, it is a recognized member of the global body, World Physiotherapy.
