17-year old Miraya Mehta Publishes Debut Novel ‘Sprint of the Soul’

 Miraya Mehta

Miraya Mehta, a Grade 12 student at Kodaikanal International School has just released her debut novel, Sprint of the Soul, a story that weaves together ancient wisdom, modern psychology and the pressures of highly competitive sports. The book, which is additionally sub-captioned, “The Story of the Mind, Woven with Faith, Told in Poetry”, is available on Amazon.

Miraya is the daughter of Shikha and Vivek Sunil Mehta. She has been an athlete since the age of 3, and represented Maharashtra at the Inter-state level (Under 8, Under 10 and Under 12, Under 15 and Under 17) in 100m, 200m and Long Jump. Currently she is the captain of her school’s Football and Track/Field teams. Miraya plans to pursue Sports Psychology as a career after completing her IB exams.

Sprint of the Soul is the story of 17-year old Aryan Mehra, whose sprinting dream shatters, forcing him to face an internal battle between pressure, fear, and love. Through poetry and prose, it tells the story of his journey of rediscovering resilience, faith, and the strength to begin again. Set against the pulse of Mumbai and the quiet rhythm of reflection, it is a moving exploration of what it means to fail, to heal, and to run toward yourself and will resonate with everyone who has ever doubted their worth, and found courage anyway.

The book aims to marry ancient wisdom with modern psychology, showing how timeless ethics and contemporary mental health strategies can coexist. Drawing on ancient philosophies and tenets of Jainism, Sprint of the Soul, helps one to realise that sometimes, the finish line isn’t an end, it’s a beginning. And as Miraya herself puts it, “True victory begins in the mind.”
