SBPJA Chennai Assists Residents at Lotus Hostel for Visually Impaired
The Shree Banaskantha Palanpur Jain Association, Chennai recently undertook a special programme to assist the residents of the Lotus Hostel for visually impaired women in Chennai.

The members of the association visited the hostel where they distributed lunch boxes, gifted by Shree Mithai, and blankets to the women residents.

The hostel is run by the LOTUS Blind Welfare Trust of India, formed in 2002, by a group of seven visually challenged individuals who worked as teachers or in public sector banks. The Trust provides free accommodation, food and medical facilities, as well as education and training for visually impaired college going girls, subsequently also trying to assist them in securing employment.

The SBPJA, which recently reached out to the residents of the hostel, was founded in 1967 to bring together families from Palanpur and Banaskantha who are settled in Chennai. It regularly takes up various programmes to assist the underprivileged and needy.
