Inkus Charitable Trust Donates Rs 9 Crore to Jaslok in Memory of Dr Kusum L Zaveri

The Inkus Charitable Trust has committed a donation of Rs 9 crore to Jaslok Hospital for the development of a new Operation Theatre Complex in loving memory of Dr Kusum Laxmichand Zaveri. The Trust is headed by Chairperson Dr Indira Hinduja, and includes Mr Kumar Sevantilal Zaveri, Mr Amar Hinduja and Mr Sanjay Parikh.

Dr Kusum Zaveri was a well-known gynaecologist and one of the doctors who worked alongside Dr Indira Hinduja in delivering India’s first test tube baby using in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) techniques in 1986. Thirty years later, in 2016, these two doctors also assisted Harsha, the baby born in 1986, when she delivered her own child using Cesarean-section.

Jaslok Hospital’s proposed state-of-the-art facility will feature 11 modern operation theatres equipped with the latest high-end technology and advanced medical equipment, significantly enhancing the hospital's surgical capabilities.

The hospital said that this support for the landmark project will play a pivotal role in strengthening the hospital's surgical infrastructure and enhancing the quality of care delivered to thousands of patients in the years ahead. The project is expected to commence shortly.
