13-year old Nandini Parikh Exhibits Paintings at Indian Honorary Consulate in Stuttgart, Germany

Nandini Parikh, age 13, a student of Grade 7 in the Reuchlin Gymnasium at Pforzheim, Germany was invited for the second time to display her art at a special event held at the Indian Honorary Consulate in Stuttgart. This follows some outstanding achievements in international art competitions including the Europe-wide 73rd European Competition (Europäischer Wettbewerb) and the global ShinHan (South Korea) postcard competition.

Nandini is daughter of Aashna and Darshan Rajen Parikh and granddaughter of Rajen & Mrunalini Parikh and Ajay & Rina Mehta.

She was the only child artist invited to participate in the 22nd art exhibition “Indian Encounters” by Andreas Lapp, Honorary Consul of the Republic of India for Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate. Her painting “Stillness Within” – an artwork that radiates serenity and conveys a timeless message: No matter how hectic the world may be on the outside, it is always possible to find an oasis of peace and contentment within ourselves – was one of the highlights of the show held between July 20-24, 2026.

Earlier this year, she also entered the European Competition, where she distinguished herself among around 706,000 participants from across Europe. As a regional prize winner with her painting themed “Law, Respect - Reality”, she is now counted among the Top 50 young artists in Baden-Württemberg. The competition, launched in 1953, is the oldest children's and youth competition in the Federal Republic of Germany.

In 2026, she also won a consolation prize in the ShinHan international post card competition, an international youth art competition organized by ShinHan Art Materials, inviting young creatives to explore storytelling through traditional painting on a postcard-sized format.

This summer, she was one of only 20 children to get a full scholarship for a two-week summer programme at the well-known German Kultureacademie.

Speaking to the media in Germany, Nandini had said, “I have been painting since I was three years old. Art has always been the most natural way for me to express my thoughts, feelings, and imagination,” and, ““India gave me a deep connection to colours, symbolism, spirituality, and vibrancy, while life in Germany has encouraged me to explore new techniques and artistic freedoms.”

Nandini plans to pursue art for her Grade 11 and 12 A levels and currently wants to look into art therapy for special need kids as a future career.
