Yuvraj Mehta Wins Multiple Medals at WCKF World Championship in S Korea

Yuvraj Mehta, a 13-year old Grade 8 student at Cathedral & John Connon School, Mumbai won 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze medal at the 18th Korea Open International Championship and the 5th WCKF World Championship held in Busan, South Korea in July 2026. He is the son of Nidhi and Aditya Naresh Mehta and the grandson of Raksha and Naresh Manilal Mehta.

Athletes from over 20 countries, including India, Japan, Canada, Pakistan, and South Korea took part in the competition.

Yuvraj began learning karate since he was 7 years old and trains at a dojo under the All India Gojukai Karate-do, one of the leading institutions in Mumbai. Since then he has won a number of medals in CISCE tournaments including, a Bronze in CISCE Nationals in 2024, and gold in CISCE Zonals in 2025 and 2026. He also won a bronze in the US Open Karate Championship 2024 and a Silver in the US Open Karate Championship 2025 and Bronze in the US Junior Cup 2025. He represented India in all the international tournaments.
