The ‘Ba’ Smt. Lilaben Chimanlal Parikh Cancer Care Centre at Navsari, one of the most advanced cancer care centres in Gujarat, was inaugurated recently by Hon. Jay Narain Vyas, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Gujarat. Other senior political leaders and government officials were also present on the occasion.

The hospital has been set up by Parikh Parivar and Parikh Foundation, a trust established by Mahendra Brothers, the diamond manufacturing company.

The Centre has been conceived by the Navsari Cancer Care Foundation. It is equipped with state-of-the-art machines including a latest Linear Accelerator facility along with advanced technology for detection of cancer and providing therapy at extremely subsidized rates to the patients of South Gujarat. It is expected to benefit large number of people living in the region.

The total outlay for the project is estimated at about Rs 40 crore. Besides the generous donations from Parikh Parivar and Mahendra Brothers Exports Pvt. Ltd., additional financial support for the project was received from business friends from the diamond trade, relatives and well wishers.

“BA” Cancer Centre will provide free treatment to patients below poverty line (BPL).
