Namrata H. Gandhi is First Palanpuri Jain Girl to pass UPSC

Namrata Gandhi became the first Palanpuri Jain girl to pass UPSC exam and qualify for a seat in one of the prestigious Civil Services – IAS, IFS, IPS. She was one of the successful candidates from among the 4.72 lakh students who appeared for the exam all across India.

The 23-year old was successful at her very first attempt and is also one of the youngest among those who qualified.

Namrata is the daughter of Mita and Hemendra Gandhi and granddaughter of Sarojben and Shantilal Gandhi and Renukaben and Vinubhai Bhansali.

She completed her BA in Political Science from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai in 2010, securing the 2nd Rank in Mumbai University. Earlier she completed her CBSE from Gopi Birla School, Mumbai in 2005.

During her academic career Namrata participated in extra-curricular activities. She took part in various debate competitions in Mumbai, Chennai and Dhaka (Bangladesh).
