A number of members of the Palanpui community have been elected to the Board of Directors of the US-based Indian Diamond & Colorstone Association Inc. (IDCA) for the year 2015, with Prakash B. Mehta, founder and head of US based jewellery company Interings, being elected to the prestigious position of President. Nilesh Sheth of Nice Diamonds was elected Secretary. Prakash Mehta, son of Late Bhogilal Mehta, is an electrical engineer who was initially involved in building power infrastructure in the rural areas of India. He moved to the gem and jewellery industry in 1976 and set up Interings in USA in 1981, one of the very first Indian companies to start manufacturing and selling jewellery to retailers in the US.
Other community members on the Executive Committee include: Alok Mehta of IDD, Jay Mehta of Paras Diamond Corp., Atit Mehta of Atit Diamond Corp., and Mehul Shah of Shivani Gems Inc.
Members can now request for a soft copy of the names and addresses of all those listed in the Directory in Excel format.
