The “Mavjat” Multispeciality Hospital at Palanpur, a project conceptualised and guided by Shrenikbhai Choksi, was inaugurated on 1st March 2015 by the Honourable Chief Minister of Gujarat Smt Anandiben Patel in the presence of Shri.Haribhai Chaudhary, Minister of State for Home, Government of India, Shri. Ramanbhai Vora, Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of Gujarat, Dr. A. Raghuvanshi, MD, Vice Chairman and Group CEO, Narayan Health and other dignitaries.

The fully-equipped multispeciality hospital is a result of the vision and initiative of Shrenik Chunilal Choksi, Founder and MD of Shri Chunilal Mangalji Choksi Charitable Trust (SCMCT), and one of the seniormost directors at leading diamond company M/s. Interjewel Pvt.Ltd. The trust is engaged in providing Medical and Educational aid and other social activities for the benfit of the poor and needy.

The roots of the hospital project can be traced back to many years ago when a lady from Palanpur who was in urgent need of cardiac care had to wait for more than three hours for an ambulance to transport her to Ahmedabad. It prompted the SCMCT to donate an an advanced Cardiac Life Support Ambulance named “MAVJAT” to the city.

Subsequently, Shrenikbhai Choksi began plans for a multispeciality hospital in the city itself to provide advanced and also affordable medical care to people in and around the city. In 2011, he conceptualised the “Mavjat” Hospital and commenced work with the support of his wife Bharatiben Choksi and well-wishers Ramilaben and Mahendrabhai Parikh (Diarough). He was provided with a lot of support from his friends Hasmukh Mehta and Dr. Jayesh Bavishi (Eye Surgeon), who joined hands with him to oversee the execution.

Another close friend and business partner, Rupen Kothari along with his nephew Dr. Jatin Kothari (MD, DM) from Apex Kidney Centre (Mumbai) also became a part of the “MAVJAT” Initiative and decided to start a modern kidney dialysis centre within its premises.

Narayana Health (NH), one of India's largest and most economical healthcare service providers, collaborated and extended its management support to Mavjat in areas such as Planning (Infrastructure, Equipment, Manpower), Designing, Organising and Routine Operation.

Thus within a short span of three years, the massive hospital with a total built up area of 65, 000 sq.ft, was set up.
