Inspiration Series’ Round Table Focuses on Human Capital Management

On Saturday May 9th, a Round Table Programme was organised under The Inspiration Series on the topic of ‘Human Capital Management’.

The fourth in the series of Round Tables to be held, this one was unique on many fronts. It was ‘by invite’ session for heads of the companies. For the first time, the Round Table was facilitated by a renowned Strategy Consultant firm like Accenture.

The format for this one was also vastly different from earlier ones. As a first step, Accenture had prepared a questionnaire/survey for all registered attendees to fill in. The organisation then prepared its presentation based on the survey results, and which formed the basis of discussions at the event. All participants were divided into groups and after each segment of the presentation, there was time allotted for each group to have an internal discussion before presenting their views to the entire audience. This made for an extremely interactive session with many challenges being shared and discussed thoroughly.

Rajiv P. Mehta of Dimexon, Facilitator for the Round Table Programmes opened the session by introducing the event and the team from Acenture, Ashwini Kulkarni, Shounak Gadre and Divya Kalari.

Ashwini and Shounak then took the group through the presentation, ‘Critical HR Aspects Needed to Fuel Organisation Growth’.  Accenture’s presentation began with an updated version of the informative and interesting video ‘Shift Happens’. The main presentation was structured around six segments: Organisation Alignment; HR Process Maturity; Capability Development; Performance Management; Workforce Planning; Rewards & Benefits.

The aim of the workshop was to help those present – all heads of their companies – to benchmark their HR practices within their own industry as well as Best Practices in the larger context of business and industry.

Some of the key issues which emerged were how to enhance workforce planning and how to institutionalise a well rounded rewards and recognition programme.
