Anshul K. Kothari won two medals – a gold and a bronze – representing India in team relays at the 8th Asian Age Group Swimming Championships held at Bangkok in the first week of October. This is the second time that he is winning an international medal, having also won gold in the relay event at the 7th Asian Age Group Swimming Championships held at Jakatra four years ago. Anshul is the son of Sushamaben and Ketanbhai Rasiklal Kothari. He was part of the Indian team that won a Gold Medal in 4x100m Freestyle Relay & Bronze Medal in 4x200m Freestyle Relay. The other members of the team in both relays were Virdhawal Khade, Neil Contractor and Sajan Prakash. The young computer engineer from Surat was applauded by Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel who tweeted “Gujarat is proud of @swimAnshul & swimming team on clinching Gold at 8th AASF Asian Age Group Championship 2015 in Bangkok. Congratulations!” Earlier Anshul has represented India at the Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games, both in 2010, and has also won a number of medals at national events.
