The Board of Trustees of Vidyamandir Trust, Palanpur has unanimously elected Russell A. Mehta as new Chairman at its meeting held on July 18, 2016. Russell will hold the post for a two-year period till July 2018.

He takes charge from Rajiv P. Mehta, who was Chairman for the past four years (two terms of two years each, the maximum as per the Constitution of the Trust). Russell was already a member of the Board and Rajiv will continue to be a part of the Board. Pathik Kothari was re-elected as Managing Trustee for the year.

Commenting on his new role and responsibility, Russell Mehta said, “I am extremely grateful and excited about receiving this opportunity to be the Chairman of the Vidyamandir Trust. We have done some tremendous work over the last few years and I think it will be a wonderful challenge to think about how we can keep pushing ourselves to grow and improve."

Looking forward, he added, “I have great faith in all those who work with us for the Vidyamandir Trust, and I know that together, through this journey, we will keep taking measures to improve both the quality and access to education in the region, while creating a model for others to follow. There is a lot of potential just waiting to be realised, and I look forward to leading the efforts towards harnessing this potential and using it to create value for the whole community and everyone involved with it.”

Immediate past Chairman Rajiv Mehta said, “As I look back on the last four years of my term as Chairman of Vidyamandir Trust, I feel honoured to be associated and to have worked with an institution and a team that are outstanding in living the mission of the trust. Through dedicated efforts and a relentless drive to keep improving, I have no doubt that Vidyamandir will continue to flourish and be at the forefront of education."
